The CD-A630 pairs a CD player that holds three discs, each in its own tray, with a bi-directional cassette mechanism. Separate trays make it easy to see which disc is loaded, which suits switching between intermission music and show cues, or offering more source material in public spaces. A timer function can start CD playback automatically at power-up.
Both the CD player and the cassette mechanism have ±12% pitch control for small tempo and pitch adjustments. The cassette side has RTZ (Return To Zero), Dolby B noise reduction and a record mute function. The CD player offers shuffle and program play modes and a CD sync function, and the front panel has a headphone output with level control.
Analog connections are unbalanced RCA: inputs for the cassette deck, a line output shared by the CD player and cassette deck, and an extra output dedicated to the CD player. The CD player also has an optical digital output, and a parallel control port allows external control. The RC-A630 wireless remote is included. This model has been discontinued.
