MADI-Bridge

Standalone bridge that converts between MADI and Dante, AES67 or ST 2110 audio networks, with sample rate conversion and redundant power, MADI, network and sync connections. Aimed at broadcast and live installations that need to link MADI equipment to IP audio.

  • MADI to Dante, AES67 or ST 2110 bridge, bi-directional
  • 64 ch at 48 kHz, 32 ch at 96 kHz, 16 ch at 192 kHz
  • Bidirectional SRC from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz
  • Redundant PSU, MADI, network and sync inputs
  • Can act as PTPv1/PTPv2 grand master clock
  • 32-bit MADI control tunnelling between two units

Beschrijving

The MADI-Bridge is a bi-directional interface between a MADI stream and an IP audio network running Dante, AES67 or ST 2110. It carries up to 64 channels at 48 kHz, 32 channels at 96 kHz or 16 channels at 192 kHz. A Split Mode can combine two 32-channel 96 kHz streams into a single 64-channel 48 kHz stream.

Bidirectional sample rate conversion works between any asynchronous rates from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz. Redundancy covers the power supply, MADI ports, Dante ports and sync inputs. The pair of sync inputs lets the unit act as a self-redundant PTPv1 and/or PTPv2 grand master clock. Two units can tunnel 32-bit MADI control data, so a whole MADI stream including user bits can be passed across a network.

Other functions include GPIO for passing tallies over the network, redundant network extension ports for local I/O without a switch, and a word clock output to clock a MADI device from the Dante network. A virtual headphone patch offers four-location monitoring and signal present metering, and a lockout mode guards against accidental front panel changes.
