The Elys 2 is a moving magnet cartridge in Rega's range. It is assembled by hand, using a pair of parallel wound coils built up on custom jigs into a working stereo generator. Each cartridge is tested and checked over two days against the strict parameters set for the model before it is packed or fitted to a Rega turntable.
The cartridge has an elliptical stylus and a blue body. It produces an output of 6.8 to 7.2 mV and is set up for a tracking pressure of 1.75 g. Mounting uses Rega's three point fixing system.
The Elys 2 is shown fitted to the RP3 turntable, and the RP3 and RP6 are listed as complementary components. It has won the What Hi-Fi? Product of the Year award in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. An instruction sheet in English and French is available for download.
