The 761 is a dual-mono stereo power amplifier with an independent power supply for each channel. It is rated at 200 W into 8 Ω and 400 W into 4 Ω in stereo, and 600 W into 8 Ω when switched to mono. Amplification uses MOON's MDCA architecture, which works without global feedback, and the damping factor is rated at 800.
The power supply has two custom low-noise 700 VA toroidal transformers and more than 150,000 µF of capacitance. Side-mounted heatsinks handle cooling. The chassis is aluminium with shielded circuits and internal protections. Gain is 31 dB and frequency response runs from 2 Hz to 100 kHz (+0 dB / –3 dB).
Inputs are balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA, with a stereo/mono toggle switch. MOONLink allows it to be integrated with MOON preamplifiers such as the 791. A multicolour LED indicator shows status. Standby draws 1.25 W in low-power mode, and a full-power idle mode is available for instant response.
