The OD Glove is an analog overdrive/distortion stompbox built around a MOSFET circuit. Its controls cover a wide range, from a clean, sparkling boost through crunchy breakup to thick, saturated high-gain tones, while keeping the sound articulate rather than muddy.
Three knobs set the sound: Vol for output level, Gain for input gain and overdrive amount, and Tone, which rolls off high frequencies for a smoother or less harsh response. A Tone Shift switch changes which mid frequencies the Tone knob emphasizes. The internal operating voltage can be set to either 9V or 18V to alter the character of the drive.
The pedal is mono, with a quarter-inch input jack and a quarter-inch Amp output jack. The footswitch engages the effect, shown by an LED, and the true-bypass design leaves the signal untouched when it is off. It is housed in a die-cast chassis, runs from a supplied 9V battery, and can alternatively use an optional 9.6VDC-200mA adapter sold separately.
