The 2880 pairs the familiar controls of a multi-track digital recorder with continuous stereo and mono looping and per-track control. Loops can be built up and overlaid during a performance. Recording is uncompressed at 44.1 kHz / 16-bit, and a 1 GB card supplied with the unit gives up to 31 minutes per track.
Recording options include overdub and punch in/out, with a reverse playback and over-dub mode. Loop speed can be changed over a 2 octave range. Quantize and free-running (non-quantize) modes are selectable, and a built-in metronome is provided. Each track has its own panning, and a separate stereo mixdown track lets the other tracks be freed for re-use.
MIDI Clock sync works as either master or slave. A USB port allows backup and restore of material to and from a PC or Mac. A 9LDC-500 power supply is included. An owner's manual and firmware are offered as downloads on the maker's site.
