The Varro PS500 is a powered subwoofer with a 15-inch treated-paper woofer in a bass-reflex cabinet. It is driven by a BASH amplifier rated at 500 W RMS and 1000 W peak into 4 ohms. Quoted frequency response is 20 Hz to 150 Hz anechoic and 16 Hz to 150 Hz in room, with a maximum output of 115 dB SPL at 1 m anechoic.
Digital signal processing handles extension, output and control, and an Auto EQ function helps fit the sub to the listening space. Settings can be adjusted from an iOS or Android app over Bluetooth Low Energy. The low-pass crossover is adjustable from 40 Hz to 150 Hz, and standby consumption is under 0.5 W.
The subwoofer connects to an amplifier or processor through RCA line-level inputs. A USB port is provided for firmware updates only. The cabinet has a black vinyl finish and measures 480 x 460 x 460 mm, weighing 25.9 kg. A grille, AC power cord and spikes are supplied.
