The G2 S is a wireless over-ear gaming headset built around a custom C-Media DSP chip that provides virtual 7.1 surround sound. It uses 50mm dynamic drivers and offers separate game and music sound modes. The microphone has a 70dB signal-to-noise ratio and -32dB sensitivity, with AI noise reduction that needs no driver installation.
Three connection modes are supported: 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.4 and USB audio streaming. This lets the headset work with phones, tablets, computers and PlayStation consoles. The headset can be charged and used at the same time. Rated playtime reaches 247 hours on Bluetooth with the lights off and 146 hours on 2.4GHz with the lights off, powered by a 2000mAh battery. RGB lighting is built in.
At 252g, the headset has a soft headband and leather ear cushions, with flexible arms intended to suit users who wear glasses. The headband is made of polypropylene with a high-gloss coating. EQ, voice modulation and bass settings are adjusted in the HECATE Connect Center PC software (Windows 10 or later, 2.4GHz mode only) or the Edifier ConnectX mobile app.
