SPEKTOR 6

The SPEKTOR 6 is the largest model in the SPEKTOR range. It is a passive two-way floorstanding speaker. Two woofers share the low and midrange work, and a single soft dome tweeter handles the highs, with the crossover set at 2,500 Hz. The speaker can be used as a stereo pair or as part of a surround setup.

The woofers use a cone made from paper and wood fibre pulp. This makes the cone light and rigid, and its uneven surface is meant to reduce surface resonance. The woofer cone angle and dust cap size were tuned for this model. The tweeter uses a woven fabric dome, lighter than most soft domes, which is meant to keep the upper midrange intact through the handover to the woofers. Driver shapes and materials are chosen for wide dispersion, which allows more freedom in placing the speaker in a room.

The drivers and crossover components are designed and built by the maker, with the aim of keeping signal loss low. Sensitivity is 88.5 dB and nominal impedance is 6 ohms, with a recommended amplifier power of 30–150 watts. The speaker is listed in a Black Ash finish and has a removable grille. Connection is by loudspeaker cable from an amplifier or receiver.
