The compact phono is a phono preamplifier that handles both moving-magnet and moving-coil cartridges. A front button switches between the two modes, with 47 kΩ / 100 pF loading for MM and a low-impedance MC setting. Gain is 40 dB in MM mode and 60 dB in MC mode.
The circuit is a low-noise, two-stage design with RIAA equalisation accurate to ±0.5 dB from 20 Hz to 50 kHz. Distortion is stated at under 0.0065 %, channel separation is above 80 dB at 1 kHz, and a built-in subsonic/ultrasonic filter reduces interference outside the useful frequency range.
Connections are unbalanced RCA for both input and output. The unit is powered by an external plug-in power supply (±18 V DC, 300 mA) and draws 0.7 W in operation, with no standby mode. The housing is aluminium in silver or black, measures about 80 × 115 × 26 mm and weighs roughly 310 g.
