The CXN (V2) Series 1 is a network streamer and DAC. It plays music from UPnP servers, local USB media, internet radio, Spotify Connect, Tidal and AirPlay, and has Chromecast built-in. A faster processor than the original model allows more internet radio features and finer playback control. Pandora is not supported.
Audio is converted by dual Wolfson WM8740 24-bit DACs, with second-generation ATF2 up-sampling to 24-bit/384kHz and a 2-pole dual differential Bessel analogue filter. Supported formats include ALAC, WAV, FLAC, AIFF, DSD (x64), WMA, MP3, AAC, HE AAC, AAC+ and OGG Vorbis.
The unit connects to a network by Ethernet or 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. It has S/PDIF coaxial and TOSLINK optical inputs and outputs, and a USB Type B audio input that can be set to USB Audio class 1.0 or 2.0. Analogue output is on balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA. A separate BT100 Bluetooth receiver, which is not supplied, can be added. The model is listed as archived.
