The Pulse Soundbar 2i is a streaming soundbar meant to sit under a flat-panel TV. It combines TV audio over HDMI ARC with music streaming, and it supports 24-bit resolution playback. Bass is handled without a separate subwoofer.
Inside are six speakers and two passive radiators in a three-way, tri-amplified layout. Each driver has its own amplifier channel, with DSP crossover filters blending low and high frequencies, and each sits in its own chamber to limit vibration. Listening modes in the BluOS Controller app include two dialog-enhancing modes, a wide music mode and a wide cinema mode. IR commands from an existing TV remote can be programmed in, and an optional RC1 remote is available.
It streams from music services, a personal digital library, or a phone, tablet or laptop over aptX HD Bluetooth and AirPlay 2. It works with Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri voice control, and joins other Bluesound players for multi-room playback. A Pulse Sub plus a pair of Pulse Flex 2i speakers, or a Powernode 2i with HDMI, can be added for surround sound.
