The SINE uses an 80x70 mm planar magnetic transducer with a very thin diaphragm, Uniforce voice-coil technology, Fluxor neodymium magnet arrays and Fazor elements that guide internal sound waves. The aim is low distortion and an accurate, neutral presentation for music listening, editing and recording work.
The frame is aluminum, with genuine leather earcups, hand-picked earpads and a floating headband. The headphones fold flat for travel. Industrial design came from Designworks, a BMW Group subsidiary, and the unit is assembled by hand at Audeze's Southern California factory.
An optional CIPHER Lightning cable adds an inline 24-bit DAC/amp with DSP and a Siri-compatible microphone for calls, bypassing the iPhone's internal converter. The Audeze iOS app provides a 10-band equalizer with two presets stored in the cable. The SINE has an 18 ohm impedance and 97 dB/1mW sensitivity, and the maker lists a minimum power requirement above 100 mW.
