The SE100 is a portable music player built around an ESS SABRE ES9038PRO 8-channel DAC and an octa-core processor. It decodes PCM up to 32-bit/384kHz bit-for-bit and plays native DSD up to DSD256 (11.2MHz). The audio section uses a low-jitter VCXO clock rated at 800 femtoseconds. Balanced output reaches 4.1Vrms and single-ended output 2.0Vrms, both with no load.
The body is aluminium in Titan Silver, with a glass back plate and a side-mounted volume knob that can be reached from either side. The 5-inch touchscreen has a 720 x 1,280 resolution. Other features include a parametric EQ and over-the-air firmware updates. The 3,700mAh battery gives up to 11 hours of playback on the maker's standard test and charges in about 2 hours with a 9V/1.67A fast charger.
For connections, the player has a 3.5mm headphone output and a 2.5mm balanced output that supports 4-pole plugs only. USB 3.0 Type-C handles charging and file transfer to a PC or Mac in MTP mode, at up to 10Gbps. Wi-Fi is 802.11 b/g/n on 2.4GHz. Storage is 128GB built in plus one microSD slot for cards up to 1TB.
