The LA-610 Mk II is a mono recording channel built around two vintage circuits: an all-tube mic preamp derived from the Bill Putnam 610 console module, and a T4 electro-optical compressor modelled on the Teletronix LA-2A. A high and low frequency shelving EQ lets the tone be shaped further before the signal is recorded.
The preamp section has Gain and Level controls, variable impedance switching and an instrument DI input, so it can handle microphones, line sources and instruments. The Mk II revision adds a true compressor bypass, larger metering, increased output and an auto-switching power supply. The unit is hand-assembled in the USA and covered by a one-year limited warranty.
The channel takes mono mic, line or Hi-Z sources and is intended to sit in front of an audio interface, for example during tracking of vocals, bass or acoustic guitars.
