Era 100 SL is a compact smart speaker that streams over Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 and is set up through the Sonos app. It uses three class-D amplifiers to drive two angled tweeters for stereo separation and one mid-woofer for vocals and bass. Voice control is not built in. Trueplay tuning measures the room acoustics and adjusts the EQ, and requires an iOS device.
It can be used alone, paired with a second unit for stereo, added to a Sonos soundbar as rear surround speakers, or grouped with other Sonos products in several rooms. Touch controls handle play, pause, skip, volume and grouping. Apple AirPlay 2 and direct control from supported apps such as Spotify and TIDAL are also supported.
A USB-C port accepts the Sonos Line-In Adapter for a turntable or other source via a 3.5 mm cable, or the Sonos Combo Adapter for a wired Ethernet connection. Both adapters are sold separately. The enclosure has a matte finish and uses 48% recycled plastic.
