The MKE Essential Omni is a compact omnidirectional condenser microphone made for demanding daily use on live stages. Its KE 4 capsule is derived from the MKE 2 used in Broadway productions and is tuned for a warm, distortion-free signal even at high sound pressure levels, up to 140 dB.
To cope with perspiration, the capsule is protected by a patented ultra-light umbrella (tandem) diaphragm. The microphone is light and easy to conceal, and the cable connections are built to take strain. The cable is fixed to the microphone and cannot be detached. This version comes in beige to blend with skin tones; a black version also exists.
It can be worn on the forehead, cheek or body. Mounting options include adhesive tape, a magnetic holder, rotatable clips and make-up covers. The box contains the microphone, a foam windscreen and a clamp, and a 3-pin connector terminates the 1.6 m cable.
