The kit pairs the TD-07 sound module with a PDX-8 8-inch snare pad, three PDX-6A 6-inch tom pads, a KD-10 kick pad, a 10-inch hi-hat with a foot pedal, and two 12-inch CY-8 pads for crash and ride. The snare and toms use tension-adjustable double-ply mesh heads. The kick pad is damped to reduce noise and vibration, and the stand parts are designed to limit noise passing into the floor.
The module holds 25 preset kits, 25 user kits and 143 instruments. Sounds can be edited with V-Edit, a per-pad equalizer, ambience and 30 multi-effects. A built-in metronome and a coach function with five modes help with timing practice. A second crash cymbal can be added as an option.
Bluetooth carries audio from a phone, tablet or computer into the module and also supports MIDI over Bluetooth LE. A USB port sends stereo audio and MIDI to a Mac or Windows computer. A stereo mini jack takes a wired audio input, and a stereo mini jack serves as output and headphone connection. Melodics offers 40 free lessons for use with the kit.
