The sampler records or loads samples, assigns up to 16 of them to rubber performance pads and plays them back with time stretch, pitch bend and amp envelope while all 16 voices keep running. Samples can be recorded live from external hardware such as a synthesizer or a turntable and are synchronised automatically with the running sequence. A 16-step sequencer stores up to 256 patterns, and the dials below the screen modulate sound parameters.

Sound is shaped with analogue filters from the Prophet-6 synthesizer, with Drive, Cut Off and Resonance controls. Internal storage is 8GB flash, including 2GB of pre-installed Loopmasters samples. A touch strip handles pitch bend and other parameters, pads have a velocity mode, and backlit buttons and pads follow the colours assigned to each sound.

Samples can be loaded from a USB storage device, and projects and scenes can be prepared on a computer with the DJS-TSP Project Creator software. Splice Sounds integration allows sound kits and sequences to be managed in the cloud. Beat sync to the master deck works over PRO DJ LINK on current firmware, and MIDI clock over USB keeps other devices in sync.
