The DJM-900NXS2 is a four-channel DJ mixer that uses a 96 kHz/64-bit signal processor with enhanced dithering and a low-jitter clock. The pre-amp and output circuits were revised to lower analogue noise, and the EQ, channel fader curves and clip indicator gain structure were also reworked.
Effects come in two sets. Six Sound Color FX (Sweep, Filter, Crush, Dub Echo, Noise, Space) are available on every channel, and 14 Beat FX are triggered from a large X-Pad with an OLED display showing the active effect. FX Frequency lets you choose which frequency range the effect is applied to. An independent Send/Return allows the built-in effects and an external unit, or an iPhone/iPad over USB, to run together.
For connectivity, the mixer has 4 phono inputs, 2 USB ports with a top-loaded A/B switcher for two laptops, and a built-in USB sound card handling 4 ins and 5 outs at 96 kHz/24-bit. Pro DJ Link links up to 4 players. It supports DVS control with rekordbox dvs, Serato DJ Pro and TRAKTOR PRO 3, and works with the DJM-REC app and ShowKontrol. Channel faders are the contact-free magnetic Magvel type.
