Launchpad Pro

Launchpad Pro is an 8x8 grid controller with 64 velocity- and pressure-sensitive RGB pads. It has dedicated controls for Ableton Live: launching clips and scenes, mixer, device and transport access, quantise, duplicate and double, and one-click Capture MIDI. It also integrates with Logic Pro, including triggering Live Loops from the grid and navigating projects.

The onboard sequencer has four tracks, 32 steps and eight-note polyphony. Micro Steps move grooves off the grid, while Probability, Mutation, Sync Rate and Play Order alter patterns during playback. Patterns can be chained and assigned to Scenes to build songs, and can be printed to clips in Ableton Live. Scale mode locks the pads to a key and Chord mode helps build harmonies.

Custom Modes are laid out by dragging widgets onto the grid in Novation Components, and up to eight can be stored on the unit. They can then be used without a computer. The device connects by USB-C and has MIDI In, Out 1 and Out 2/Thru on 3.5mm TRS minijack, with DIN MIDI adapters included. It is class compliant. A software bundle is included.
