The Platform M+ is a desktop DAW controller that gives hands-on control of a digital audio workstation, digital mixer or digital recorder over USB 2.0. It has eight channel faders plus a master fader, all motorized and touch-sensitive with 10-bit resolution, eight dual-function encoders that rotate and push to enter, and a jog wheel. Illuminated buttons cover channel Select, Mute, Solo and Record, six transport functions, Zoom with direction keys, Track selection and Bank shifting in groups of 8 channels.
Control is handled through built-in Mackie Control, HUI (for Pro Tools) and Logic Pro protocols, with Quick-Setup drivers for Cubase, Nuendo, Reason and Bitwig. A MIDI User Define mode lets other software be mapped with the included iMap software, which is also used for firmware updates over USB. Bitwig Studio 8-Track and several plugin bundles are supplied.
The unit is expandable. The Platform D2 display module, Platform X+ extenders and Platform B+ module attach through its modular ports, and the maximum channel count depends on the DAW. The case is metal, with a Kensington lock port, and the controller runs from a supplied 12V/5A power adapter.
