Aurora is a pressure-gradient condenser microphone built around a 34 mm capsule that sits in a shock mount inside a die-cast metal body. Its cardioid polar pattern picks up mainly from the front, which helps separate the sound source from the room and reduces feedback. It can serve as a main or support microphone, and is suggested for vocals, acoustic instruments and drum overheads.
The microphone covers 20 Hz to 20 kHz with a sensitivity of -35 dBV/Pa. It handles up to 130 dB SPL and has an 85 dB signal-to-noise ratio and 125 dB dynamic range.
It needs 48 V phantom power from the preamp, mixer or interface it is plugged into, drawing 4 mA. A heavy-duty suspension mount, a metal pop filter and a carry case come with it. Printed manuals are listed for download in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.
