The F5E is a two-way speaker with a 125mm IsoFlare driver. The multi-fibre bass/mid cone and the 19mm titanium dome compression tweeter share one point source. The cone is surrounded by a FyneFlute design. The crossover sits at 1.8kHz and uses a 2nd order low pass with a 1st order high pass.
The cabinet has a downward-firing port and a BassTrax Tractrix diffuser. The diffuser spreads low-frequency output evenly around the speaker, so placement in a room is less critical. The speaker can be placed on a bookshelf or a stand, or mounted on a wall.
It is rated at 8 ohm nominal impedance and 87dB sensitivity, with a recommended amplifier power of 30 to 90 watts RMS. It connects to an amplifier through the speaker terminals on the rear. It is sold as a pair, and the series also includes an LCR version for centre or wall use.
