This USB webcam has a Sony STARVIS CMOS sensor and an Elgato Prime fixed-focus lens with a 24 mm full-frame-equivalent focal length and an f/2.4 aperture. It captures 1080p at 60 fps, with HDR available up to 1080p30. Over USB 3.0 it sends uncompressed video, which avoids extra compression processing. There is no built-in microphone, so audio comes from a separate mic or headset.
The free Camera Hub app for Windows and Mac gives manual control over settings such as ISO and shutter speed, plus pan, tilt and digital zoom of the field of view. Settings are stored in on-device flash memory, so they persist after a restart or when moving to another computer. On computers with an NVIDIA RTX GPU, the app adds virtual backgrounds, face tracking and simulated eye contact. A Stream Deck plugin allows control from a key or dial.
The camera connects through a detachable braided USB-C to USB-C cable. It falls back to compressed MJPEG over USB 2.0. A redesigned monitor clamp is included, and a 1/4-inch thread allows tripod or boom-arm mounting. A slide-in shutter covers the lens, and an internal heat sink is meant to keep the camera cool during long sessions.
