The pedal is built around the circuit used in the circa 1991 Sovtek "Civil War" Big Muff, which shares its design with the Tall Font Green Russian Big Muff. It keeps the familiar Sustain, Tone and Volume controls and adds the sound-shaping features of the Deluxe Big Muff in a single enclosure, with styling that follows the Civil War look.
A Blend knob mixes dry and distorted signals, and a Gate knob sets the noise gate threshold. A separate footswitch engages the mids EQ, which boosts or cuts by up to +/- 10dB at a centre frequency adjustable from 310Hz to 5.0kHz. A High/Low Q switch sets the width of the mids band, and a Wicker switch opens up the high-frequency bandwidth for a brighter top end and a more pronounced attack.
The pedal has a true bypass and a mono signal path. An expression input accepts a TRS expression pedal to sweep the mids frequency. It runs from a 9V battery, which is included, or from an optional 9.6VDC-200mA adapter sold separately.
