The Micro Q-Tron is an analog envelope filter. Its built-in envelope follower reads the volume and dynamics of each note and uses that to move the filter's centre or cutoff frequency. Harder attack or louder notes give a wider sweep, while softer playing gives a more subtle effect.
Three controls shape the sound. A rotary mode switch selects low-pass, band-pass or high-pass filtering. The Q control sets the peak bandwidth of the filter, from smooth to more pronounced and funky. The Drive control sets the sensitivity of the sweep and its range. A footswitch toggles between effect and true bypass.
The pedal is mono, with one input jack for the instrument and one output jack for the amplifier. It sits in a compact die-cast chassis and runs from an included 9V battery, or from an optional 9.6VDC 200mA adapter that is sold separately. Current draw is 15mA.
