RUBICON LCR

The RUBICON LCR is a wall-mounted two-and-a-half-way speaker built around a 6½-inch wood fibre woofer and a hybrid tweeter module. The tweeter module can be rotated, which lets the same model be used as a left, centre or right channel speaker in stereo or multi-channel systems.

The hybrid tweeter pairs a 29 mm soft dome with a 17 x 45 mm planar element. The planar element works down to about 2.5 kHz and gives wide dispersion, while the dome handles the upper range. The woofer uses a patented SMC magnet system with a slitted copper cap to lower distortion, a rubber surround and a cast-aluminium chassis. The drivers are made in-house in Denmark.

The bass port is built into the back panel of the cabinet and uses the wall surface to extend low-frequency output. The speaker has a frequency range of 59 to 34,000 Hz (±3 dB), 89 dB sensitivity and a 4 ohm nominal impedance, and is suited to amplifiers rated 20 to 150 watts. It is offered in a walnut veneer finish with a grille.
